If you need food, we can help.

About our program

We are a fixed address hamper program that can serve you once a month, on the day of the month you need us the most. We give about 1-3 days worth of food. Items given are dependent on donations received and may vary each visit.  Our services are provided to clients with no financial cost and without any implicity/explicity tied to other conditions (e.g., volunteer participation, donation requirements, engagement in faith-based activities, etc.).

Client Service Protocols

Clients attending the North Bay Food Bank are asked to line up outside (please dress for the weather) as we will bring in as clients as space allows. Clients (and visitors) to the Food Bank are encouraged to wash their hands upon entry. Please ensure you have the proper documentation prior to your visit, and that you are attending when eligible (see below for policy).

What do I need to bring?

For service at the Food Bank, you will need:

  • Valid, physical ID (driver’s license, Passport, Ontario Card, birth certificate) is required at every visit for every person you are claiming food for.
  • NOTE:  Expired ID will not be accepted.
  • Upon opening a new client file, or at time of profile review (every 3 calendar months):
    • Mandatory physical proof of a North Bay or Redbridge address that shows client’s name, current address and be dated no older than 3 months of your visit date.
      • Some examples of proof of address are:  dated piece of mail, utility bill, bank statement, official dated document. 
      • NOTE:  ID may not be used as proof of address.
    • We will ask if you would share your sources of income & expenses (mortgage/rent & utilities – hydro, heat & water) for data collecting purposes only.
  • Please ensure you bring bags or something to pack your hamper items in.

Client Hours:

Monday:9 am – 12 noon
Tuesday:9 am – 12 noon
Wednesday:3 pm – 6 pm
Thursday:3 pm – 6 pm

Friday10 am – 3 pm – by appointment only.

Clients need to call us at 705-495-3290 Mon. to Thurs. 9am – 5pm the week they would like a Friday appointment.
