Fundraising
YOU have the power to make a difference. And you can do it by making your next event or celebration a way to help the Food Bank through donations of food or money.
Here are just a few ideas to get you started:
Birthdays
Instead of buying you gifts, ask guests to make a monetary donation to the Food Bank. Or, ask them to bring a few food items to the party. Take a picture and share on your social media to encourage others who might consider doing the same.

Relaxed or "Dress-down" days at work
Have a weekly or monthly day that people can take part in by making a small contribution like a loonie or a toonie. Get comfy and raise funds for the Food Bank!

Special Occasions
Getting married? This isn’t an option for everyone, but if you already have the home and housewares you need, why not make your special day a day to help others. Ask people to make a donation to the Food Bank instead of registering for gifts.

Your Next Dinner Party
Instead of appetizers or wine, ask people to make bring a donation of food items with them.

Staff Christmas Party
Make everyone on your team aware that you plan to have a fundraising jar and/or a collection box at the event location. Make it an annual tradition … then it becomes a habit that when you exchange gifts or do your Secret-Santa, you also bring a non perishable food item to the event!

Share the Love on Social Media
Whichever way you choose to help, once you’ve gathered the food items, or cash donations, be sure to get some pictures to share on social media as a reminder to others…they’ll see you giving and they might be inspired to do the same.
